As a service to the community, the Tigard Parks & Rec Scholarship Program provides financial assistance for city residents to participate in Parks & Rec activities.

Applies To:

City of Tigard community members who would like to participate in Tigard Parks & Rec activities and require additional assistance.

Scholarship Guidelines:

  • Scholarships cover 75%, 85%, or 100% of an activity’s registration fee. The applicant is responsible for paying the remaining portion of the fee, if applicable.
  • Scholarship applications may be submitted starting January 1 each year and are valid through December 31. Unused funds will expire on December 31.
  • The maximum award is $300 per household per calendar year. Funds may be shared among household members.
  • A new application, proof of residency, and proof of qualification are required each calendar year.
  • If an 85% or 100% scholarship is unavailable, eligible applicants will be awarded a 75% scholarship. 

How To Apply:

A completed application consists of:

  • Completed application form
  • Proof of residency
  • One proof of financial qualification

Steps:

  1. Create an ActiveNet account online 
  2. Submit application with:
    1. Proof of residency (e.g., rental/mortgage agreement, ID, or official mail).
    2. ONE proof of financial qualification:
      • State foster care documentation
      • SNAP/TANF verification letter with dates
      • Utility bill showing income assistance
      • Last 2 months’ pay stubs for all adults living in the household (required for 100% scholarship)
  3. Submit your application via the form below.
    1. If you need the application form emailed to you, please email recreation@tigard-or.gov.
  4. After You Apply:
    1. Staff will review your application and verify residency.
    2. You’ll get an email about approval or denial. Please allow up to two weeks for review.
