The Tigard Police Department shares a sample of calls for service each week to educate community members about the types of calls officers respond to each day, providing perspective on the work they do for our city.

While only 2-4 calls are listed in this record per day, Tigard Police officers respond to an average of more than 100 calls every day, between dispatched calls for service and self-initiated calls which may include extra patrols, traffic stops, neighborhood contacts or checking out suspicious circumstances.

Note: Some of these incidents involve individuals exhibiting signs of mental health crises and/or drug and alcohol impairment based on the information provided to officers and their observations, however officers do not diagnose individuals.

Week of February 22 – 28, 2026

  • Nearly a dozen calls to 911 were made where screaming and sounds of a fight could be heard, then the caller hung up. Officers responded to the area where the call came from but couldn’t find anything. • Officers attended a community engagement event at the mall for Lunar New Year.

  • A theft in progress was reported at a store involving a juvenile who was reportedly armed with a gun with an extended magazine and a spare magazine in his waistband. Responding officers learned he had a felony conviction and had a felony arrest warrant for a previous robbery. He was arrested and taken to the juvenile detention center on charges including felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, theft II, giving false information to police and the felony warrant.

Thursday, February 26:
