Creating infrastructure that builds community and climate resilience

Energy use, mostly from the use of buildings and roads, makes up nearly 75% of worldwide greenhouse gas emissions.  In fact, buildings and transportation, along with industry, account for almost 60% of all worldwide GHG emissions.

The Community Development department practices carbon responsible community development by importing best practices from the professional fields to which it’s connected, seeking new community development incentives and tools that reduce emissions, and partnering with internal and external groups to extend the reach and effect of climate forward practices.
