What Does the Youth City Councilor Do?
Tigard's Youth City Councilor is a member of City Council. They advise City Council on community issues from a young person's perspective and advocate for the needs of Tigard's youth. They attend weekly Tigard City Council meetings where they weigh in on important topics and help make local policy decisions that affect the day-to-day life of Tigard residents.

The Youth City Councilor office term runs July 1-June 30. The role is appointed by City Council following an application and interview process. The application typically opens in the spring and the deadline is June 1.

Eligibility
Youth Councilor applicants must be entering their junior or senior year at the time of application and be a resident of the City of Tigard (but may attend any public or private school serving Tigard residents).
