Green Sprout Award

As part of an ongoing effort to recognize exemplary local firms and organizations, the City of Tigard is proud to offer the Green Sprout Awards. This award honors local, independently operated food companies and non-profits for their hard work toward providing healthy food for the Tigard community.

Bethlehem House of Bread
Bethlehem-House-of-BreadBethlehem House of Bread is a non-profit food pantry that provides emergency food for more than 250 families a month. The pantry, which operates as a store where people can pick and choose what their families will eat, offers fresh produce and other healthy foods that ensure local families get the nutrition they need. Learn more.

Cascade Organic

Cascade-OrganicA cooperative effort of foragers, farmers, and fishermen, Cascade Organic focuses on unique, locally-sourced produce and fresh, wild fish. Cascade Organic also works with local Native tribes to promote native fish products and support employment and education opportunities for Native peoples. Learn more.

Souper Natural
Souper-NaturalA soup and sauce company based in Tigard, Souper Natural offers over 30 soups and five tomato sauces sourced from local ingredients (organic when possible) to support farmers and growers. Souper Natural’s products are sold at local farmer’s markets and at the company’s commercial kitchen in Tigard. Learn more.

Supa Fresh Youth Farm
Supa-Fresh-Youth-FarmStarting out with just four raised planter beds, Supa Fresh Youth Farm has grown into a training and learning space for underserved youth that encompasses three ¼-acre farms, all located in Tigard. The farm employs up to 50 youth farmers every year who learn how to grow organic produce, herbs and flowers that are sold back to the community. Learn more.
