The City of Tigard's Business Support Scholarship offers business owners and entrepreneurs a reimbursement of up to 50 percent of the cost of business advising services, training and course work with one of the business advising partners listed below (up to $500 per program/course). 

Business Support Scholarship Process

1. Find a business training program offered by one of the local partner organizations listed below:
   • Adelante Mujeres
   • Hacienda CDC
   • Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber
   • IRCO
   • Livelihood NW
   • Micro Enterprise Services of Oregon (MESO)
   • Professional Business Development Group (PBDG)
   • SCORE
   • Small Business Development Center (SBDC)
   • XXcelerate
     
     
2. Submit the Business Support Scholarship application along with a W-9.
   
   
3. City of Tigard staff will notify you of your scholarship award amount. Scholarship will not exceed 50 percent of training costs.
   
   
4. Complete business training and submit proof of satisfactory completion to City of Tigard staff.
   
   
5. City of Tigard will issue a check to reimburse you for up to 50 percent of training cost.
    

Eligibility Criteria

The Business Support Scholarship is open to:

• Owners of Tigard-based businesses. (Note: scholarship is only open to business owners at this time.)
• Aspiring entrepreneurs who open a business in Tigard (must present Tigard business license along with proof of satisfactory training completion).
• Aspiring entrepreneurs who live in Tigard.
• Adjusted gross income may be considered to ensure scholarships benefit those in need.
