Reservoir 18 and Pump Station Design @ Sunrise

Project Description
This project is for the design and construction of a new water reservoir, associated new waterlines, and replacement of a temporary pump station for the city's 560-foot service area. Reservoir 18 will be constructed on city property located on the west side of Bull Mountain in the Sunrise Lane vicinity. A new permanent pump station will replace an existing temporary pump station on the Reservoir 13 site to move water from the 410-foot to the 560-foot service area.

Why It's Needed
This project is necessary to meet demand from continued development in River Terrace. Under the existing water distribution system configuration, supply to the 560-foot service area relies on the storage, pumping, and transmission facilities that also serve the 713-foot service area. The western slopes of Bull Mountain have seen a sharp increase in development since the city annexed in this area and approved the River Terrace Community Plan. At full build-out, River Terrace is expected to add 2,587 dwelling units to this area. Hydraulic analyses show that existing facilities serving the 713-foot service area do not have adequate capacity to continue serving the 560-foot service area.Strategic Plan Tie-In
This project supports the goal to “fund the vision while maintaining core services” as it will allow for the continued supply of the basic, daily need of clean drinking water to community members.
