Generator Replacement at Pump Station 1

Project Description
This project will replace the existing generator at Site 1, which is undersized and past its useful life expectancy. The new generator will be relocated outside and adjacent to the Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) Well #1 wellhouse in an effort to make the site more seismically resilient. Once installed, the generator will provide essential backup power to Pump Station 1, ASR 1, and the existing maintenance building at Site 1.Why It's Needed
The current generator at Site 1 is approximately 40 years old. Because of its age, replacement parts are hard to find, and maintenance costs are increasing. The generator is also undersized and not able to power ASR-1 (an emergency drinking water supply) and Pump Station 1 simultaneously.
Timeline
Design expected to be complete in 2026. Permitting expected to be complete by early 2027. Construction to be completed in 2027.

Strategic Plan Tie-in
This project supports the fourth goal to “fund the vision while maintaining core services” as it will allow for the continued supply of the basic, daily need of clean drinking water to community members.
