PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Context-sensitive design (a design that takes into consideration the community and lands through which it passes) to fill in sidewalk gaps between 103rd Ave and 96th Ave so that pedestrians will no longer be forced to share the roadway in the vehicle travel lane. 

PROJECT IMPACTS: Pride Disposal will begin their routes on Murdock Street at 5 a.m. This change will remain in effect for the duration of the project.

FUNDING SOURCES: City gas tax; Stormwater Fund

OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE COSTS: Small impact from additional curbed street to sweep and drainage pipe to clean. 

WHY IT’S NEEDED: Portions of the pavement on the street are about 22 feet wide. Pedestrians, including schoolchildren, typically walk in the travel lane in these sections.  Schoolchildren traveling on Murdock Street attend Twality Middle School and Templeton Elementary School.
