Project Description 

This project will construct a universally designed and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible playground at Cook Park. 

Cook Family Park is the oldest, and most well-known park in the City of Tigard. The park has a rich history and a variety of amenities including a large playground structure that has aged beyond its useful life. There desire is to replace that structure with a playground that is fun and accessible by all. 

Construction of the new inclusive play structure is complete.

TIMELINE: FY21- 24

FUNDING SOURCE: Parks System Development Charges Fund. 

OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE COSTS: The project is not expected to increase maintenance costs since it replaces an existing structure that, because of its age, is requiring additional maintenance. 

WHY IT’S NEEDED: The primary play structure at Cook Family Park has reached the end of its life and needs to be replaced. Their is a desire to replace that structure with a playground that is fun and accessible by all. The goal is to provide an experience that is memorable for a lifetime.
