Downtown Tigard Tree Lighting -- 2016

Liberty Park | All Ages
The holiday season kicks off with the Annual Holiday Tree Lighting at Liberty Park. Gather across the street at the Rite Aid parking lot (12080 SW Main St.) to watch the tree being lit and listen to the Charles F. Tigard Elementary School choir. After lighting the tree, Santa will lead a procession to a local store front (12215 SW Main St) that will be transformed into the North Pole. Festivities include wood ornament crafts, hot cocoa, cookies and a chance to visit with Santa!

Downtown Merchant Hosts Letters to Santa -- 2016
Friday, November 26 – December 15 
Sherrie’s Jewelry Box, 12425 SW Main St. |  All Ages
Children are encouraged to write letters to Santa (printable sample) and drop them in a festive mail box located outside of Sherrie’s Jewelry Box on Main Street in Tigard. Letters dropped with a return address can expect a reply from Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Mad Science: Rockets & the Science of Flight

Space, rockets, planes and flight... a little bit of everything for a rockin' good time! Younger campers will have a blast learning the hows and whys of aerodynamics by studying all things that fly: planes, kites, hot air balloons, helicopters and of course rockets. 

Scholarship Information

Tigard Parks & Rec will soon be launching a program to provide financial assistance for qualified participants. There will be limited amount of scholarships available to partially or fully cover the cost of a class, program, or event offered by the Recreation Program. Stay tuned for more information.
