Summer 2016 Activity Guide
Summer's here and Tigard has activities galore! Take a look through the new Activity Guide which lists activities, events and summer camps through September. Highlights include movies in the park, swim lessons at the Tigard pool, the return of Family Fest and lots of other fun activities. If you’re looking to learn a new hobby, meet some new friends, develop your skills, get out of the house or just be entertained – we have something for you.
Summer Camp! Mad Science: Rockets & the Science of Flight
August 15-19 | 9 a.m to noon | Dirksen Nature Park
Space, rockets, planes and flight... a little bit of everything for a rockin' good time! Younger campers will have a blast learning the hows and whys of aerodynamics by studying all things that fly: planes, kites, hot air balloons, helicopters and of course, rockets.
Summer Movie in the Park: "Zootopia"
Friday, August 19 | Movie will begin after dusk | Dirksen Nature Park
Bring your blankets to Dirksen Nature Park for Tigard's first Movie in the Park! In partnership with the Fowler Middle School Parent Support Organization (PSO), Tigard Parks & Rec will show, Disney's Zootopia. This FREE event will showcase the city's new 20-foot movie screen. Movie will begin at dusk and parking is available at Fowler Middle School. This new release follows a rookie bunny police officer who is destined to prove herself. She must team up with the charming fox to solve a mystery about the disappearance of some citizens of Zootopia.
Movie in the Park: "Inside Out"

Cook Park (located near Durham & 92nd in Tigard)
Kick off Family Fest and join Tigard Parks & Rec at Cook Park for a free movie under the stars! We will be showing Disney’s "Inside Out." Bring a blanket and enjoy the show. Movie will begin at dusk.
Tour de Parks

Begin/End: Tigard TC Wes Station (off of Main Street and Commercial)
Washington County Bicycle Transportation Coalition has created this popular, free, family fun bike ride that visits several Tigard parks using low traffic streets and car-free trails. See parts of Tigard you may not have seen before and have fun riding with friends and family. Register online.
Saturday, September 10 | 10:30 am
Run/walk with Tigard Parks & Rec and Tigard Basketball Association. The route starts at City Hall, winds through beautiful trails and ends downtown at the Street Fair! Strollers are welcome; children under 5 years can participate for free! Register online.
Downtown Tigard Street Fair

Main Street Tigard
Get a taste of downtown life with vendors, entertainment, and food for all day excitement! Head to the Kid’s Zone to play basketball in a Hot Shots Tournament with Tigard Basketball Association. Street Fair organized by the Tigard Downtown Alliance. Learn more.
Tour of Latin America
Saturday, September 10 | 5:00 to 9:00 pm
Main Street Tigard
Join us downtown for the party — fiesta style. The Downtown Tigard Street Fair will feature the first ever "Tour of Latin America" including Latin food, dance performances, sugar skull face painting for kids of all ages, dance competitions and so much more! Event organized by the Tigard Latino Volunteer Network.
Tigard Farmers Market
