CodeRED: Tigard's Emergency Notification System

Will You Get the Call?
Register Today!
Getting the word out about an emergency is essential to public safety. Tigardís CodeRED emergency notification system can do just that. By phone, the system can provide Tigard businesses, residents and water customers (including customers in Durham, King City and unincorporated Washington County) with up-to-the-minute information on utility outages, missing persons, fires, evacuations, floods, bomb threats, hostage situations, or other emergencies.

Using high-speed telecommunications, the notification system can make up to 100,000 phone calls an hour, or about 1,600 calls per minute. This means every household and business within the city could be notified in less than 30 minutes. Calls deliver a recorded message about the emergency and what action call recipients should take to ensure their safety. The notification can be communitywide or can target a specific geographic area.

Take Time to Register
Most businesses and residents with published telephone numbers will already be in the system. Businesses and residents with non-published numbers, cell phone numbers, Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP), or recently acquired numbers are encouraged to register their address and phone number.

Registration is confidential and free. Register online or by contacting Emergency Management Coordinator Mike Lueck at 503-718-2593.

Will You Get Our Call?
Once you are registered for the CodeRED system, contact your phone/data service provider to confirm that these CodeRED numbers are not blocked: 855-969-4636 and 866-415-5000.
