Is Your Rental Property as Safe as it Could Be?

Enhanced Safety Properties is a three-phase program designed to reduce crime and increase livability in rental property.

 Phase I – Landlord Training
Key property management personnel attend the eight hour seminar entitled "Keeping Illegal Activity Off Rental Property." This seminar is designed to teach landlords and property managers the basics of sound property management and proven crime fighting techniques to make their property safer.

 Phase II – Security Assessment
Enhanced Safety Properties requires participants who wish to be certified in Phase II to meet minimum "Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design" (CPTED) standards. A trained professional will conduct a security assessment of the property.

Phase III – Tenant Crime Prevention Training
Tenants getting to know one another, "building community." Phase III requires the landlord or property manager to coordinate semi-annual meetings where tenants can get crime prevention training and get to know one another. The ESP program coordinator can help to facilitate the training and provide knowledgeable speakers.
