Tigard Police Investigate Burglary

Tigard Police are searching for a woman involved in a string of burglaries that occurred during one night at the Tigard Medical Mall and Immediate Care Center office complex on December 23rd. Numerous tenants reported the burglaries.

On December 12, 2007, just after midnight Tigard Police were sent to the Texaco Gas Station at 12885 S.W. Pacific Highway on a report that two subjects were observed by the attendant spray painting graffiti on the station's main office.

A New Name For Washington County Commuter Rail

On Monday, November 19, TriMet announced WES as the new name of the Washington County commuter rail line. The name was revealed at an event held at the Beaverton Transit Center. WES stands for Westside Express Service and the Westsider.

Suspect in Tigard Area Fraud Investigation Arrested

Frederick T Deiner, DOB 011275, of Portland was taken into custody by Portland Police Friday evening on a warrant and charges stemming from a Tigard Police investigation.

Leonard Jones has just been reported located. According to a family member, Jones arrived this morning at his intended destination in Arizona. Jones appeared somewhat confused, but otherwise safe and in good health.

A 78 year old Tigard man has been reported missing. Judy Dillree told police that her father, Leonard C. Jones, left on a driving trip to Arizona and has not been seen since.

Motorcyclist Dies After Colliding With Vehicle

A 61 year old man was killed after his motorcycle collided into the rear of a vehicle that was stopped in traffic. The crash occurred at about 2:25 pm today along southbound Hwy 217 just south of the Scholls Ferry Road.

Tigard Fugitive Arrested After Being On Run For 12 Years

Fulgencio "Fred" Muniz was recently transferred to the Washington County Jail from Fresno, California where he was arrested on charges of DUII. It was at that time, officials learned that he had been on the run from Oregon since 1995.

Tigard Man Convicted On Arson Charges

A Tigard Police investigation earlier this year resulted in the arrest of 40 year old Charles Kastel on June 25th. Yesterday, the Washington County District Attorney's Office advised that Kastel pled guilty to one count of Arson I and one count of Criminal Mischief I in connection with the June incident.

Front Yard Setback Enforcement to Begin in 2008

In March 2007, the Tigard City Council considered the issue of setback violations caused by structures placed in front yards. This was due to the growing popularity of accessory structure kits ranging from those with plastic poles and canvas covers to others with metal framework and siding, often used as an extra "garage."

A Tigard Police Officer made a connection with two reported incidents of a man lurking in parking lots and hiding under vehicles, made an arrest this morning. Charles Edward Sanders Jr., DOB 060670, was arrested without incident at the Tigard Police Department.

Citizens and Canines for Clean Water

A recent study commissioned by Clean Water Services linked 16 to 20 percent of the fecal bacteria in Tigard's creeks and rivers to canine DNA. In nature, this statistic should measure zero percent to trace amounts. The study showed the Tualatin Basin's inability to naturally support the waste generated by our community's dog population.

Man with a Gun Robs Tigard Deli - Arrested Minutes Later

The Windfall Deli located at 13815 SW Pacific Highway in Tigard was the scene of a robbery late Sunday evening at approximately 7:30 pm. An alert employee of a neighboring business called police after he observed a man walk past a window in the business where he was working.

Wilson was selected by the Tigard City Council on May 8, 2007, for appointment to the Council position vacated by Councilor Sally Harding, who resigned on April 24, 2007.

Portland Woman Charged With Child Neglect
(May 11, 2007)
Tigard Police were dispatched to the Lowe's Home Center store located at 12615 SW 72nd Ave. in Tigard Monday afternoon at approximately 1:35 pm. The caller reported seeing an infant left unattended in a vehicle parked in the lot. A Tigard Officer arrived within minutes and located the vehicle with the lone infant inside. The officer observed only one window open approximately four inches and as a result the baby appeared in distress.

Tigard Police were dispatched to a report of a vehicle on its top along 99W near Bull Mountain Rd. at about 7:00 pm Tuesday evening. Upon arrival, Tigard Police Officers began efforts to extricate the injured woman from the vehicle.

The National Policy Research Council (NPRC) named the City of Tigard as one of 18 cities scoring an A+ for its website. The NPRC reviewed 11,000 official government websites in the country. All sites were reviewed for features that make it efficient and effective at providing E-Government to the citizens it serves.

Traffic Crash Sends Five to Hospital

An early morning traffic crash at the intersection of 99W and Royalty Parkway in Tigard sent five people involved to local hospitals. The incident occurred at approximately 3:45 am Saturday morning. The roadway was closed for several hours so the injured could be treated and police could begin their investigation.

Tigard Police Detectives are continuing their investigation into a reported robbery that occurred Tuesday afternoon at approximately 3:35 pm. The incident occurred at an apartment located near SW 72nd and Fir St. in Tigard.

Vehicle Loses Control; Strikes Pedestrian

At approximately 5:10 a.m. Friday morning, a pedestrian that was walking along Pacific Highway near 68th Parkway was struck by a vehicle. According to statements obtained by Tigard Police, the driver of the green Ford Mustang lost control as the vehicle was traveling northbound along Pacific Highway in an area north of 68th Parkway.

Express Internet Service Introduced at Tigard Library

Tigard Public Library has added four Express Internet stations on the first floor of the library. The Express Internet stations are limited to 15 minutes per session. They are aimed at patrons who want to quickly check their email or map out driving directions.

Two Men Invade Tigard Home

At approximately 9:45 a.m. Saturday morning, two men entered a home located at 12055 SW Burlheights St. in Tigard with intentions of robbery. The pair, described as adult Latino men, entered the home after a child who resided at the residence opened the door.

Pavement Data Collection Work Begins

A Tigard resident received a suspicious telephone call at her home Friday evening. The caller, a professional sounding adult male, identified himself as a doctor with "Portland Community Hospital." Tigard Bans Alcohol in Some City Parks

City Council Adopts Budget for FY 2006-07

Bicyclist Seriously Injured After Colliding With Vehicle

A 20 year old Oregon City resident suffered serious injuries after colliding with a SUV near 110th Street and Gaarde Monday afternoon in Tigard. Daniel Gresham, along with his brother, were riding their bicycles westbound along Gaarde Street when the crash occurred at approximately 2:40 PM.

Anti Wal-Mart Phone Calls

On Friday, the City of Tigard began receiving calls from citizens opposing Wal-Mart. Over 80 calls were made in a two hour period. The calls are apparently instigated by an anti Wal-Mart organization which contacts citizen randomly and then forwards their calls to City Hall if they are opposed to Wal-Mart.

Police Seeking Witness To Woodard Park Incident

A thirteen year old girl reported to police that two young men harassed her and physically subdued her. The incident reportedly occurred Monday afternoon while the girl was walking along a path in Woodard Park in Tigard. Last night, the Tigard City Council approved a $1.2 million purchase agreement for a 2.67-acre property located in the City of Tigard on Bull Mountain Road opposite Alberta Rider School. This property will accommodate a pocket park atop a 3 million gallon underground water reservoir.

City of Tigard, Police and Fire Will Honor Life Saving Efforts of Three Citizens

The City of Tigard, along with Tigard Police and TVF&R will be honoring three citizens who were credited with saving the life of a McMinnville woman. The life saving act occurred on March 12th in Tigard when Judith Folgate's vehicle burst into flames after a speeding driver slammed into it.

Old Tire Round Up

Tigard City Manager Proposes Budget for FY 2006-07

A Tigard Police School Resource Officer recently arrested a 13 year old Tigard juvenile along with two other juveniles, a fourteen and a fifteen year old, from Tualatin, allegedly connected to 19 reported incidents involving graffiti in the Tigard area.

Tigard Officer Thwarts Burglary In Progress - Suspect Arrested

At approximately 11:30 pm Tuesday evening, a Tigard officer on routine patrol was dispatched to an audible alarm sounding at the Marshall's Store located at 16200 SW Pacific Highway in Tigard. The dispatched officer came upon a man who was inside the receiving area at the rear of the business.

Library Promotes Self-Checkout Machine With a Smile!

Police Warn of Scam Targeting Latinos

Tigard Police are advising the public about a scam that occurred in Tigard recently and has cropped up in at least two other cities in the region. The victims in those reported incidents are all Hispanic. Police learned of the elaborate hoax during an ongoing investigation involving a reported kidnap that occurred at a Fred Meyer store in Tigard on March 7th.

Infant Seriously Injured-Father Arrested

A 26 year old Tigard man was arrested Thursday afternoon by Tigard Police on charges of Assault I. The man is alleged to have injured his infant son.

Fiery Fatal Crash On 99W

Tigard Police is presently investigating a motor vehicle crash that occurred on 99W near the Hwy 217 interchange in Tigard. One person died as a result. Several others were injured. The crash happened at about 4:30 Sunday afternoon.

Tigard Woman and Her Child Kidnapped

Tigard Police are investigating a report made by a Tigard woman alleging she was forced to drive two adult males to a local bank and provide them money. The woman told police her 5 year old son was with her during the entire ordeal.

Volunteers Sought for Tigard Planting Events

On January 21, the non-profit organization, Friends of Trees, led a group of volunteers who planted approximately 400 native tree seedlings in the area surrounding Hiteon Creek, in Tigard's Englewood Park. This was the first of three planting events at the creek and more volunteers are needed to keep the momentum going.
