(January 30, 2012) At about 3:15 PM Sunday, January 29th, 2012, Tigard Police responded to a call of a Robbery at the ATM of Chase Bank, located at 11354 SW Durham Rd., Tigard, OR. Officers determined a middle aged woman had been approached by a male carrying a knife, who demanded she give him an undisclosed amount of money she had just withdrawn from the ATM. Burglary Suspects Lead Tigard Police In Chase—Ends With Two in Custody (December 5, 2011) A Tigard man called 9-1-1 at approximately 8:50 a.m. on December 5th alleging he interrupted a burglary at his home located along Hawks Beard St. and was held at gunpoint by a man and woman. A Tigard Police Officer who happened to be in the area on patrol spotted the two suspects in a red, older model Nissan Maxima parked near the Summer Creek Apartments. Hit and Run in Tigard—Pedestrian Struck While In Crosswalk (December 2, 2011) Tigard Police arrested a 55 year-old Portland man after the vehicle he was driving struck a man while in a crosswalk. The incident occurred December 2, 2011 at approximately 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Pacific Highway and 72nd Ave. in Tigard. Recent OLCC Compliance Checks Conducted in Tigard (November 22, 2011) Five out of 30 businesses visited in Tigard on November 4, 2011 failed to pass an OLCC check for alcohol sales to minors. The Tigard Police Department assisted the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC) with this effort. A team of OLCC inspectors along with two Tigard Police Officers accompanying an eighteen year-old male volunteer, visited the selected establishments. Tigard Police Officer-involved Crash Findings (November 10, 2011) The Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team (CART) recently released their findings from an investigation surrounding a crash involving a Tigard Police patrol vehicle. The incident occurred on September 3, 2011 at approximately 8:20 p.m. at the intersections of SW Walnut Street and Watkins Avenue in Tigard. Tigard Police Searching for Wanted Suspect (October 26, 2011) Tigard Police Officers are actively searching for a subject with outstanding warrants and who has been successful in eluding officers in the past. Sergio Dupree Hunt, DOB 082886 is wanted by police for a series of domestic violence related incidents stemming from a location in Tigard. Landlord Training Scheduled: Make Rental Properties Safer (September 27, 2011) Tigard Police, in partnership with the Westside Crime Prevention Coalition will present a training opportunity for rental property owners and managers on Saturday, November 5, 2011. Tigard Police Unit Crashes While Responding to an Emergency (September 3, 2011) On Saturday, September 3, 2011 at approximately 8:15 p.m., Tigard police units were responding to an emergency call for assistance at a rental property near the western boundary of Tigard. One of the responding police units enroute to the call was involved in a traffic crash at the intersection of S.W. Walnut Street and S.W. Watkins Street in Tigard. Tigard Police Share Insight Regarding Mental Health Issues Within the Community (May 27, 2011) The faith community of St. Anthony Catholic Church has invited the Tigard Police Department, along with other key organizations, to speak to interested members of the community to learn more about mental illness. The focus of the planned 90 minute meeting is to share information regarding how law enforcement responds and works to serve as a resource for both the client and the community. Tigard Set to Begin Seat Belt Enforcement Campaign (May 20, 2011) The Tigard Police Department will once again participate in the "Three Flags Safety Belt Campaign" beginning May 23rd. Tigard Police Investigating Robbery at Rite-Aid (April 28, 2011) On April 27, 2011 at approximately 8:55 a.m. an employee of Rite-Aid telephoned 9-1-1 to report a robbery. The witness told police a man allegedly had displayed a gun while demanding Oxycodone. String of Tigard Burglaries Leads Police to Suspect (April 1, 2011) Tigard Police Officers were called to several businesses just before midnight, Thursday, March 31, 2011, as a result of either audible alarms or intrusions being reported by security monitoring firms. The first alarm was reported at Charlies Team Sports located at 11981 SW Pacific Highway in Tigard. Students Report Suspicious Vehicle Near Middle School in Tigard (April 1, 2011) Tigard Police would like to take this opportunity to remind parents the importance of speaking to their children regarding safety. Children should be encouraged to be alert and to know what steps to take in the event they find themselves in a situation that could be uncomfortable or possibly harmful. Key Bank Robbed-Suspect In Custody (March 29, 2011) An employee of Key Bank located at 11665 SW Pacific Highway in Tigard called 9-1-1 at 9:11 am on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 to report a robbery. Information relayed during the call indicated that a white male adult had presented a note to a bank employee demanding money. Man Robbed In Tigard Shopping Center Parking Lot (March 29, 2011) A 22-year-old Tualatin man called 9-1-1 and reported he was robbed by gunpoint. The victim told police the incident occurred just after he exited his parked vehicle. The robbery reportedly happened in the parking lot of a Tigard shopping center located at 13500 SW Pacific Highway just after 8:00 pm on Sunday evening, March 27th. Tigard Police Investigating Mid-Day Stabbing (March 22, 2011) Tigard Police Detectives are currently investigating a reported stabbing which occurred shortly after noon Tuesday, March 22, 2011 just outside a restaurant in Tigard. A call made to 9-1-1 reported an altercation between three men who were standing near the intersection of Center St. and 88th Ave. Tigard Police Participating In Oregon Special Olympics Fundraiser (March 11, 2011) On Saturday, March 26, 2011, a fundraiser to benefit Oregon Special Olympics will take place at the Red Robin Restaurant located at 10100 SW Washington Square Rd. in Tigard. The event is scheduled to take place from 11 am until 8 pm at the popular eating establishment at Washington Square. Tigard Plaid Pantry Robbed - No One Injured (March 7, 2011) An employee of a Plaid Pantry convenience store located 11705 SW Pacific Highway contacted police at approximately 6:30 am on Sunday, March 6, 2011 to report a robbery. The victim stated that a white male entered the store just before 6:30 am and made a demand for money. Tigard Police Offer Free Document Shredding (February 24, 2011) The Tigard Police Department, in partnership with Pride Recycling, will be sponsoring a community shred on Saturday, April 16, 2011. Pedestrian Struck While Crossing Pacific Highway (December 17, 2010) On December 16th, 2010 at approximately 7:30 pm, a 78 year-old Tigard man was struck by a vehicle as he attempted to cross Pacific Highway at Walnut St. Witness accounts point to the conclusion that the victim, Hugh Kabat, although walking in a crosswalk, had failed to yield to traffic moving in conjunction with a green light. Search Warrant at Tigard Home Yields Six Arrests (December 2, 2010) On December 1, 2010 at approximately 6:30 AM, a search warrant was executed at a Tigard residence located 7735 SW Gentle Woods Drive. The search warrant was carried out by the Tactical Negotiation Team (TNT) of the Washington County Sheriff's Office. Robbery Reported at Key Bank in Tigard (November 22, 2010) On Friday, November 19, 2010, an employee of the Key Bank located at 12744 SW North Dakota in Tigard called 9-1-1 to report a robbery String of Vandalism Overnight in Tigard (November 21, 2010) Many Tigard residents woke up to find either their vehicle or home vandalized overnight. Tigard Police received the first call of 14 subsequent reports at about 5 a.m. Sunday morning, November 21, 2010. Two Juveniles Arrested for Vandalism Spree (October 20, 2010) Tigard Police arrested two Tigard juveniles for allegedly spray painting graffiti on a host of buildings including homes, a church, on mailboxes, public property and vehicles. Ten victims reported damage to their property. US Bank Robbed-Police Apprehend Suspect (October 15, 2010) A 9-1-1 call indicated the US Bank located at 12160 SW Main St. in Tigard was robbed at approximately 12:55 pm on Thursday, October 14, 2010. Tigard Officers were in the area within moments and worked to contain the surrounding streets. Suspect Arrested After Confrontation With Police (October 15, 2010) On Thursday, October 14, 2010 at approximately 5:30 pm, two Tigard Police Officers were completing a report while seated in their patrol vehicle which was parked in a lot at the Washington Square Mall in Tigard near the Sears store. The officers began to observe what appeared to be a "road-rage" incident whereby a suspect allegedly began to ram another vehicle. Armed Robbery Reported at a Tigard Taco Bell (October 8, 2010) An employee at a Taco Bell Restaurant located at 11635 SW Pacific Highway in Tigard reported being robbed by an armed man. The incident occurred at approximately 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday, October 6, 2010. Rash of Vandalism Overnight In Tigard (October 8, 2010) Residents in Tigard woke up this morning to find a rash of vandalism which occurred overnight in neighborhoods located in the southeast area of the city. Tigard Police has documented ten reports so far with the potential for additional discoveries of vandalism as the day progresses. Convenience Store Robbery (October 7, 2010) Tigard Police detectives are presently investigating an armed robbery which reportedly occurred on October 5, 2010 at approximately 10:40 p.m. Landlord Training Scheduled (September 28, 2010) The Westside Crime Prevention Coalition (WCPC) will present a training opportunity to rental property owners and managers on Wednesday, November 3, 2010. Pedestrian Struck By Pickup--Driver Speeds Off (September 17, 2010) The Tigard Police Traffic Unit is currently investigating a hit and run which occurred Thursday, September 16, 2010 at approximately 6:30 a.m. The incident happened at the intersection of SW 72nd and Varns St. Robbery Suspect in Custody After Attempt to Elude (September 13, 2010) A Tigard Police Lieutenant was able to stop a robbery suspect from fleeing after a reported robbery that occurred at a Tigard coffee shop. The incident began at 11:15 am Friday morning, September 10, 2010 when an employee of the Brewed Awakening Coffee Shop reported being robbed. Apartment Shooting (September 1, 2010) On Tuesday August 31st at around 8:30 pm Officers responded to a disturbance and shots fired call at the Arbor Heights Apartments in Tigard. Tigard Police Investigating Suspicious Death (August 19, 2010) Tigard Police Detectives are presently investigating a suspicious death. A citizen walking through Fanno Creek Park spotted a body in the Fanno Creek. The observation was made just before 2pm on Monday, August 23, 2010. Pedestrian Injured After Being Struck by Motorcyclist (August 18, 2010) A 53 year-old Portland man was struck by a motorcycle as he crossed Pacific Hwy. in Tigard. The incident occurred at approximately 9:00 pm on August 18th. Northbound Pacific Highway was closed for a short time while the accident was investigated. Prescription Drug Take-Back Event Scheduled (August 16, 2010) Please mark your calendar for Saturday, September 25, 2010. A drop-off center will be in the parking lot of Tigard City Hall located at 13125 SW Hall Blvd. The event will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 1 p.m. Tigard Police Seeking Suspect in Burglary and Sexual Assault Investigation (August 13, 2010) Tigard Police investigators are seeking a suspect who reportedly unlawfully entered a woman's home and sexually assaulted the victim. The incident occurred on August 6th, 2010 at approximately 3:50 pm. at the Windmill Apartments located along SW Tigard St. near 105th Ave. Suspect Apprehended After Robbery Occurring in Tigard (August 6, 2010) A 37 year-old Tigard woman was arrested a short time after allegedly robbing a lottery lounge establishment in Tigard Friday morning. At approximately 11:30 am on August 6th, 2010, Roberta Jurado entered Foxy's located at 14295 SW Pacific Highway. Tigard Wells Fargo Bank on Scholls Ferry Robbed (August 6, 2010) On Thursday, August 5th, 2010 at about 4:28 pm, a lone female suspect entered the Lamb's Thriftway located at 12220 SW Scholls Ferry Road in Tigard. The suspect approached the Wells Fargo Banking center located within the grocery store and contacted an employee of the bank. Police Investigating Death of Woman After Parking Lot Mishap (July 30, 2010) The Tigard Police Traffic Unit is investigating the death of a 90 year-old Tigard area woman. Police are working to determine if the victim died as a result of being struck while walking as a vehicle backed from a parking spot. Suspected Drunk Driver Crashes Into Two Tigard Police Vehicles (July 19, 2010) On Friday, July 16, 2010 at approximately 11:25 p.m., two Tigard Police patrol vehicles conducting a traffic stop were stopped and positioned near the shoulder on southbound Pacific Highway near Johnson St. in Tigard. The emergency lighting and strobes on the police vehicles were operating. During the course of the stop, a 2006 BMW traveling southbound along Pacific Highway struck both police vehicles. Midday Rite Aid Robbery-Suspect Caught (July 12, 2010) Unparalleled response by Tigard Police coupled with an alert Rite-Aid employee brought a robbery to an extremely quick close Saturrday afternoon. The suspect drove the vehicle into a home near the intersection of 81st and SW Bonita in Tigard at approximately 12:50 am on Wednesday. Three Flags Campaign Continues to Reflect Strong Compliance (June 10, 2010) Tigard Police Officers issued 57 citations to motorists during the last Three Flags Campaign; of which 13 were for seat belt violations. The "stepped up" approach to bring awareness and compliance to Oregon's Seat Belt Law took place between May 24th and June 6th. Accidental Death Involving a Tigard 3 year-old (June 4, 2010) Tigard Police is currently investigating the death of a 3 year-old female. Several 9-1-1 calls were placed at approximately 11:15 am yesterday reporting the need for medical assistance to a home located on SW 82nd Ave. in Tigard. Homeless Man's Death Appears Accidental (May 28, 2010) On May 26th at approximately 2:30 am, Tigard Police Officers were called to the parking lot at Russ Chevrolet, 11880 SW Pacific Highway in Tigard on reports of a passerby observing a man lying on the ground. Bi-Mart Pharmacy Robbery (May 26, 2010) On Tuesday, May 25, 2010, an adult white female displayed a demand note for Oxycontin to a pharmacy employee at the Bi-Mart store located at 13500 SW Pacific Highway in Tigard. Late Night Walgreen's Robbery — Suspect Arrested (May 20, 2010) A 26 year-old Portland woman is alleged to have robbed the Walgreen's Pharmacy located at 13939 SW Pacific Highway in Tigard Wednesday night. Storage Facility Burglarized-U-Haul Trucks Stolen (May 18, 2010) Tigard Police were called to the U-Haul Center located at 11552 SW Pacific Highway in Tigard just before midnight on May 16th. A customer returning a rental truck telephoned police after noticing some damage to the building and a key return box. Daytime Attempted Car-jacking (April 6, 2010) A 38 year-old Tigard woman reported an attempted car-jacking Monday morning occurring at a shopping center. The victim called 9-1-1 at approximately 11:15 am after a man approached her in a parking lot located near 12060 SW Main St. in Tigard. Motorcyclist Eludes Tigard Police Officer - Suspect Later Crashes (April 1, 2010) At approximately 11 a.m. today, a Tigard Police Motor Officer attempted a traffic stop with a motorcyclist allegedly speeding along southbound Hwy 217 near 72nd Ave. in Tigard. The motor officer followed the motorcyclist onto southbound I-5 and motioned for the cycle operator to move off the roadway. String of Vehicle Break-Ins Overnight Lead to Arrest of Three Juveniles (March 31, 2010) An observant Tigard resident made a call to Tigard Police overnight reporting several males peering into vehicles along Murdock Ln. in Tigard. Overnight Crash Injures Four in Tigard (March 24, 2010) Tigard Police, along with members of the Washington County CART is investigating a motor vehicle crash which occurred just after midnight today. The incident occurred on the Pacific Highway overpass just north of Johnson Street in Tigard. Suspect With Gun Robs Tigard Walgreens (March 24, 2010) The Tigard Police Department is presently investigating a robbery occurring at the Walgreen's store located at 13939 SW Pacific Highway in Tigard. An employee of the business called 9-1-1 to report the incident at approximately 5:10 pm Monday, March 22nd. Toys R' Us Burglarized (February 2, 2010) Tigard Police officers were dispatched to the Toys R' Us Store located at 10065 SW Cascade Ave. in Tigard at approximately 1:40 a.m. this morning. As a Tigard Officer entered the parking lot of the store, two subjects were seen running from the area. At approximately 9:30 a.m. a host of Tigard Police Officers and Detectives made entry into the home and located a marijuana grow operation. New Tigard Police Command Staff Reshapes Department (December 2, 2009) At the November 24 Tigard City Council meeting, the Tigard Police Department's newest Police Chief will take the official oath of office. Alan Orr was appointed by Tigard City Manager, Craig Prosser last month to fill that key law enforcement role. Lone Man Robs Tigard Gas Station (November 18, 2009) An employee of an Astro Gas Station located at 12885 SW Pacific Highway in Tigard, reported being robbed early Tuesday morning. Police reports indicate that a 48 year old female employee was approached in the office area of the gas station at approximately 4:30 a.m. by a white male adult. City of Tigard Names New Police Chief (October 15, 2009) City Manager Craig Prosser, recently announced his appointment for a new police chief for the City of Tigard. Former Assistant Chief Alan Orr will assume his new role as Chief of Police effective November 24th. Driver of Fatal Crash That Killed Two Is Arrested and Charged (October 1, 2009) The driver of a vehicle in which two passengers were killed, was arrested by Tigard Police this morning. Cory Wayne Warwick, 23, of Aloha, turned himself in at the Tigard Police Department after learning he was recently indicted by a Washington County Grand Jury. Warwick is charged with two counts of Manslaughter I and DUII. Man With Knife Robs Hotel Clerk (September 28, 2009) On Sunday, September 27th at approximately 2:15 p.m., a lone man threatened and robbed an employee at a Shilo Inn in Tigard. The hotel is located at 10830 SW Greenburg Rd. Tigard Police Sex Abuse Investigation May Involve Additional Victims (September 4, 2009) Tigard Police Detectives believe that their investigation into alleged sex abuse involving a 28-year-old female may reveal additional victims. On August 24th, Milwaukie Police Department arrested 28-year-old Craig Daniel Smith. Woman Robbed and Beaten by Suspect in a Parking Lot (June 23, 2009) This morning around 9:30 a.m., the Washington County communications center received a "9-1-1" call from the Pacific Medical Group located at 13240 S.W. Pacific Highway in Tigard. The caller described being robbed in the center's parking lot by an unknown male suspect who was alleged to have been armed with a pistol.
