A 60 year-old Tigard man was seriously injured Monday night, July 2nd, after being struck by a vehicle. The incident occurred as the man was crossing Pacific Highway near McKenzie St. in Tigard. The accident was reported to Tigard Police at 9:45 p.m. The motorist, 63 year-old Mark Murphy, also of Tigard, immediately stopped after allegedly striking the pedestrian. Tigard Police were on-scene within minutes as well as emergency medical personnel. Pacific Highway was closed for a short period of time while the injured man was treated and investigators began to gather information from witnesses. The victim was quickly transported by ground to OHSU with serious injuries. The victim’s condition was listed as critical late Monday night. The Washington County CART was notified and assisted with the investigation. No impairment was noted regarding the driver. The accident investigation is continuing. No citations have been issued. |
