The City of Tigard is hosting a kickoff event for the Tigard Connections Team on Monday, January 30 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Tigard Public Library Community Room. The event is an opportunity for local residents and stakeholders to learn more about how they can participate in planning for the Southwest Corridor, the area connecting Portland to Tigard and Sherwood. The Southwest Corridor Plan is looking at a wide range of alternatives to deal with future growth, including parks and open spaces, mixed use neighborhoods, and transportation options such as high capacity transit. The Connections Team will be the city's main vehicle for local input into the regional Southwest Corridor Plan. The Connections Team is an extension of the city's public involvement activities surrounding the Tigard High Capacity Transit (HCT) Land Use Plan. The City of Tigard is seeking public involvement in this ongoing planning process, and welcomes you to invite your friends and neighbors to our kickoff event. This is an opportunity for citizens and stakeholders of Tigard to give their input about how they would like to see the corridor develop in Tigard.
