NEW LEADS: Tigard Police Searching for Possible Second Vehicle Involved In Earlier Hit and Run
Tigard Police investigators now believe there is likely a second vehicle involved in a hit and run that occurred last month which left a Beaverton man seriously injured. Video obtained from the scene and other locations now point to a second vehicle, possibly a white Honda Civic sedan with a spoiler or similar style vehicle. Video captured from a roadside assistance vehicle arriving at the scene clearly indicates a secondary vehicle departing. Evidence remaining at the scene still point to a gray 98-02 Honda Accord as the likely primary suspect vehicle. Police are still looking for the driver allegedly responsible for striking 32 year-old Andrew Thompson while he was attending to his disabled vehicle parked in the shoulder along the on-ramp to northbound Highway 217 at Pacific Highway in Tigard. Police estimate that Thompson was struck sometime shortly after 3:00 a.m. on November 12, 2011.

Tigard Police is presently working with the video and other still photographs obtained in efforts to locate the owners of both vehicles believed to be involved. Police are still interested in hearing from anyone who may have information regarding the incident. Please call 503-718-2815 or via email to tips@tigard-or.gov

Tigard Police Searching for Hit and Run Suspect
Tigard Police investigators are asking the help of the public in efforts to identify and locate the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run which seriously injured a motorist. Police have information possibly indicating the suspect vehicle which struck the victim and his vehicle may be a 1998–2002 Honda. Vehicle parts strewn in the area of the scene indicate the suspect vehicle is a carbon-gray color. The suspect vehicle will have damage to the passenger side front fender and bumper.

The incident took place at approximately 3 a.m. Saturday morning, November 12, 2011, on the shoulder of the ramp leading from southbound Pacific Highway to northbound Highway 217 in Tigard. The victim was attempting to change a flat tire when a vehicle came along and struck him. A roadside service employee, who was dispatched minutes earlier, found the victim and called 9-1-1. The victim, a 32 year-old Beaverton man, was transported by ground to OHSU. His present condition is unknown.

Anyone with information can contact the Tigard Police at 503-639-6168 or via email to tips@tigard-or.gov.
