Community Shred Offers Opportunity to Reduce Risk of Identity Theft The Tigard Police Department is once again partnering with Pride Recycling to host a free "community shred." This is an excellent opportunity to securely dispose of household documents and other materials containing sensitive information. Shredding paperwork effectively can reduce the elements leading to identity theft. The event is planned for Thursday, August 11, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm or until the truck reaches capacity. The weekday-evening event was so popular last summer we decided to bring it back once again. The event will take place in the parking lot of Tigard City Hall located 13125 SW Hall Blvd. We ask that you limit your materials to no more than three hand carried bags or boxes. Police representatives will be on hand to help unload your vehicle. Please consider bringing along a non-perishable food item or two for the Oregon Food Bank. Food gathered at this event will be distributed to Tigard area residents in need. For more information call 503-718-2561. |
