Tigard Police Investigating Mid-Day Stabbing Tigard Police Detectives are currently investigating a reported stabbing which occurred shortly after noon Tuesday, March 22, 2011 just outside a restaurant in Tigard. A call made to 9-1-1 reported an altercation between three men who were standing near the intersection of Center St. and 88th Ave. in Tigard. When police arrived in the area, no one could be located and bystanders were unaware of any altercation. In the meantime, Tigard Officers scoured the area and ultimately were able to develop information that led investigators to Providence St. Vincent Hospital where a man was reported being treated for a stab wound. Witness statements later obtained by Tigard Police indicate that the victim and the victim's father were followed out of a restaurant that the two men were visiting. Once outside, the victim, 24 year-old Cole Killion, was allegedly stabbed by the suspect after the three men were involved in some type of altercation. After the stabbing occurred, the victim's father took his son and sought medical assistance. Reports indicate that a family friend drove the victim to the hospital. The victim is being treated for non-life threatening injuries as a result of the stabbing. In the meantime, Tigard Police officers remained in the area in efforts to locate the suspect even though information was very scattered at best. A short time later, Tigard Officers took the suspect, 38 year-old Howard McTimpeny, into custody. McTimpeny was located about a quarter mile from the scene of the incident in a nearby mobile home park. McTimpeny will be lodged in the Washington County Jail on charges of Assault II. Police do not know the motive behind the attack. |
