String of Vandalism Overnight in Tigard
Many Tigard residents woke up to find either their vehicle or home vandalized overnight. Tigard Police received the first call of 14 subsequent reports at about 5 a.m. Sunday morning, November 21, 2010. The Tigard resident living along Omara St. near 97th was awakened by the sound of broken glass. The caller stated he found shattered glass in his kitchen caused by a can of spray paint which was thrown through the window. Police seized the can as evidence. As Tigard Police officers were scouring the neighborhood for suspects, they discovered considerable vandalism is the form of spray painted monikers, lewd graphics and slurs applied on numerous homes and vehicles. The area of Tigard where the vandalism appears to be concentrated is either along 100th Ave., Omara St. and Ash Ave.

Officers began the task of contacting victims while other officers continued to look for suspects or evidence that could assist investigators. No suspect information is presently available. Tigard Police are asking the help of the community to report anything which may be helpful to locate the suspects responsible for the vandalism. Citizens can call 503-718-COPS (2677) or provide information via email to tips@tigard-or.gov.
