Apartment Shooting
On Tuesday August 31st at around 8:30 pm officers responded to a disturbance and shots fired call at the Arbor Heights Apartments in Tigard. Officers from Tigard, Tualatin, Sherwood, King City and Washington County deputies arrived and found two adults (1 female and 1 male) deceased with gunshot wounds outside an apartment in a breeze way. The apartment was cleared by uniform officers and they found a two year old female asleep and safe in a bedroom.
Detectives arrived and through interviews determined that the deceased persons were married and the mother of the victim female was present and witnessed the disturbance. The 2 year female was later released to family members.
Preliminary investigation of this incident appears to be a Murder/Suicide. There was no known history of domestic violence between the two.
The deceased persons were identified as 34 year old Jeffrey Njus and 31 year old Ilona Njus.
