UPDATE: (9/13/10) Tigard Police Learn Identity of Body Found in Fanno Creek Tigard Police Investigators have identified the body of a woman found in the Fanno Creek in Tigard on August 23rd. The victim is 25 year old Sara Tigabu-Amberber. The victim has been in and out of touch with a family member who lives in the Tigard area, however Tigabu-Amberber remained mostly homeless. The investigation into Tigabu-Amberber's death is ongoing and Tigard Police Investigators are requesting anyone who may have had contact with Tigabu-Amberber in the days leading up to the discovery of her body, or otherwise have information relevant to the current investigation to contact the Tigard Police Department at 503-718-COPS (2677). Tigard Police Asking For Public's Help To Identify Body Discovered in Fanno Creek Tigard Police investigators are asking the help of the public in their efforts to identify the body discovered on Monday in the Fanno Creek. A citizen using the park came upon the body at approximately 2:00 p.m. while walking along the creek at a point approximately ¼ mile west of Hall Blvd. Tigard Police investigators are working closely with other law enforcement and public service agencies in hopes to identify the deceased. No matches have been found at this time. The deceased is described as likely an African-American adult female, 5'7" and 243 lbs. with an age range of 20-30 years. If anyone has information which can assist police in the identification, they are asked to contact Tigard Police at 503-718-COPS (2677). Tigard Police Investigating Suspicious Death Tigard Police Detectives are presently investigating a suspicious death. A citizen walking through Fanno Creek Park spotted a body in the Fanno Creek. The observation was made just before 2pm on Monday, August 23, 2010. Tigard Police were called and detectives are investigating. The body was located approximately 1/4 mile west of Hall Blvd. along the Fanno Creek Trail. The creek runs parallel to the trail at this location. The body of a female was seen face-down in the water. Details regarding the age or race is unknown at this time. A forensics team from the Washington County Sheriff's Office is assisting Tigard investigators. No further information is available at this time. |
