16-year-old Driver Crashes Into Tigard Home-Arrested for DUII Tigard Police are investigating an early morning crash involving a 16-year-old Tigard boy allegedly operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The suspect drove the vehicle into a home near the intersection of 81st and SW Bonita in Tigard at approximately 12:50 am on Wednesday. Based on damage to the home and skid marks along the roadway, the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed. The 2004 Ford Mustang slammed into the front of the home, narrowly missing the sleeping area occupied by two children at the time. There were seven people in the home at the time of the crash. The damage to the home created by the errant vehicle created unsafe living conditions, forcing displacement of the entire family. No one was injured inside the home. The suspect, 16-year-old Juan Daniel Jimenez-Jimenez, was transported to OHSU after the crash. The suspect was released later this morning and a Tigard Police Officer transported him to Donald E. Long facility in Portland where he was lodged. A 20-year-old passenger was also transported to OHSU where he remains with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect is charged with DUII (.20 bac), Assault III, 7 counts of reckless endangering, MIP, Criminal Mischief and Reckless Driving. The suspect was also driving without a license and insurance. |
