Paving Project on 72nd Ave, Bonita Rd, and Durham Rd
Watch for construction in May on the following streets:
  • 72nd Avenue (from Fir Street to Upper Boones Ferry Road)
  • Durham Road (from Upper Boones Ferry Road to Hall Boulevard)
  • Bonita Road (from Interstate 5 Bridge to Fanno Creek)
The City of Tigard is using ARRA stimulus dollars to construct pavement overlays to preserve and extend the pavement life on these busy streets. Contractor Knife River, Inc. will start removing sections of failed and potholed pavement and then grind the pavement along the curbs. After that, a paving crew with large machinery will come through and lay down two inches of new asphalt on top of the existing roadway. Crews then adjust manholes and valve covers to match the new pavement surface. That will be followed by striping crews replacing the lines and traffic markings on the roadway.

Flaggers will do their best to keep traffic moving during construction, though some delays are inevitable due to the high volume of traffic. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes when feasible to avoid construction delays.

Work will include a weekend closure of Durham Road May 15 and 16 in conjunction with a railroad project to replace the railroad crossing near Upper Boones Ferry Road.
