Man Assaulted with KnifeSuspect Arrested The Tigard Police Department responded to Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU) around 3:00 a.m. Saturday, March 27th, after receiving information from the hospital stating they were treating a male for multiple stab wounds. Tigard Police learned this assault occurred earlier that morning at approximately 1:30 a.m. near McDonald Street and 105th Avenue. Police reports indicate both the victim and suspect knew each other and agreed to meet at the noted location. A physical confrontation between the two erupted and sometime during the fight, 18 year old Yousef Ziad Fawzi Taha allegedly armed himself with a knife and stabbed the victim numerous times. The fight ended when another subject known to both parties separated the pair. The victim was taken to the hospital by friends. In the meantime, the suspect departed the area in a vehicle. On Saturday afternoon, Tigard Police Detectives contacted Yousef Taha at his residence in Beaverton and was taken into custody without incident. Taha was lodged at the Washington County Jail on charges of Assault II and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. He is expected to be arraigned Monday. Both the victim and suspect have been cooperating with police. The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with related information or who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact Tigard Police Detective Dave Hockin at 503-718-2553. |
