Overnight Crash Injures Four in Tigard
Tigard Police, along with members of the Washington County CART is investigating a motor
vehicle crash which occurred just after midnight today. The incident occurred on the
Pacific Highway overpass just north of Johnson Street in Tigard. Pacific Highway was closed throughout the night and traffic diverted while the team of investigators, along with officers from Beaverton, Hillsboro, OSP, Tualatin, the Washington County Sheriff's Office, as well as ODOT personnel worked to sort out the details which led up to the three vehicle crash. TVF&R provided emergency medical care to the injured motorists involved. Four people were transported by ground to OHSU; of that two were admitted trauma with serious injuries. Their present condition is not known.
Police reports indicate that a 2003 VW Passat, allegedly driven southbound on Pacific Highway by Sead Alivodic, 48, of Tigard, traveled into oncoming lanes and struck a 1999 Chevrolet S-10 traveling northbound. The impact sent the pickup into a spin and a rollover, coming to rest on its side. The driver of the pickup, Kpetike-Kokouda Ketevi, 36, of Portland, sustained serious injuries. A northbound Nissan SUV operated by Aaron Guzik, 27, of Portland, became entangled in the crash as well. Both Guzik and a passenger were transported with less serious injuries.
Alivodic is charged with Assault 3, two counts of Assault 4, Reckless Driving, Criminal Mischief and DUII. Reports indicated Alivodic's BAC was nearly three times the limit allowed by Oregon law. The suspect remains hospitalized.
Tigard Police is continuing the criminal investigation surrounding the crash.
