Thanks for your support of our Hometown Heroes!
This information is in response to requests for sending care packages to Tigard's
men and women who are deployed with the 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Troops (IBCT)
Headquarters in Iraq and Afghanistan. At this link: www.oregon.gov/OMD/AGPA/docs/Care_Package_Items.pdf you will find a list of popular requests and do's and don'ts for sending items to the soldiers. It's recommended that a note or letter be included with the package if materials are meant to be shared among a group. If you are addressing your package or letters to a specific soldier, their name should be on the address line. Task Force Jungleer (Tigard Deployed Units) Contact Information:

Link here: http://www.oregon.gov/OMD/DeployedUnits.shtml Operation Homefront - Oregon Chapter At the March 28, 2006 City Council meeting, Mayor Craig Dirksen signed a Proclamation adopting the Headquarters and Headquarters Company 41st Brigade Combat Team. The goal of this adoption is to assist in providing physical and morale support for the mobilized Soldiers and their families. Many of the Soldiers and their families will experience severe disruption in their family life, career and/or scholastic pursuits to fulfill their oaths of enlistment. It's important that they know that their efforts are supported by their friends, neighbors and employers on the home front. The City joins the Tigard American Legion Post #158, The Tigard Chamber of Commerce and Major Axel Rasmussen (Tualatin) Post #3452 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in offering support to the 41st Brigade and their families. |
