Congratulations Future Mayors
August 2009

Mayor Craig Dirksen and Tigard City Councilors selected winners in the 2009 “If I Were Mayor, I Would…” student contest sponsored by the Oregon Mayors Association.

Templeton Elementary fourth grader, Britta Harbury, turned in the winning mayoral idea poster and Laurel Stewart, a home schooled ninth grade student submitted the winning entry in the High School PowerPoint division.

Each girl received a $50 Visa gift card for her thoughtful and creative design. Britta and Laurel will represent Tigard in the statewide competition sponsored by the Oregon Mayors Association, where their work could earn them one of three laptop computers.
