Tigard Police Participating In Oregon Special Olympics Fundraiser
On Saturday, April 18th a fundraiser to benefit Oregon Special Olympics will be held at the Red Robin Restaurant located at 10100 SW Washington Square Rd. in Tigard. The event is scheduled to take place from 11am until 8pm at the popular eating establishment located in Washington Square II.

A host of staff from Tigard Police will be participating in efforts to raise awareness and money to help support the Oregon Special Olympics. This event is considered to be one of the most essential fundraisers to help continue the important work of Oregon Special Olympics and their ability to provide year-round sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

The event fittingly titled "Tip-a-Cop" is an opportunity for local law enforcement to help. Officers will assist wait staff throughout the day and find opportunity to speak to patrons about the event and how they can help. Interested patrons are provided an envelope to make a donation. All the money collected is directed immediately to Oregon Special Olympics.

To add even more excitement to this year's event, another popular business nearby, Gap Kids and Baby Gap will be involved. To coincide with the grand opening of their new location inside Washington Square, they will be providing coupons for customers to obtain free food and beverages at the Red Robin. Both Gap stores will also have raffles for gift cards and other prizes when guests make a donation to Oregon Special Olympics. The Gap will also be matching donations made during their grand opening celebration on April 18th. Tigard Police and McGruff the Crime Dog will also be on hand to visit with children and provide safety related giveaways as well.

Last year Tigard Police and the Washington Square Red Robin location placed second within the state when considering the total number of dollars collected to benefit Oregon Special Olympics. Tigard Police is hoping to clinch the number one berth this year. Please consider stopping by to join in on this worthwhile effort and enjoy the fun, good food and service as well.
