Fire Destroys Park Shelter in Cook Park
An investigation will be conducted to determine if a fire that destroyed a park shelter at
Cook Park was intentionally set. Tigard Police and Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue units arrived on the scene of the fire which was located at the west end of the park. The incident occurred at approximately 10:15 p.m. Saturday evening, February 21st. A resident nearby reported seeing flames coming from the park area and called 9-1-1. At one point, the entire structure, which is primarily constructed of wood materials, was completely engulfed. Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire without incident. The structure was a total loss. Fire Investigators will work to identify a cause. If anyone has information regarding the fire, they are asked to contact Tigard Police at 503-639-6168. |
