Got Storm Debris? Free Disposal Event Tigard and its garbage haulers, Pride Disposal Company and Waste Management, Inc., are sponsoring a free event to help city residents dispose of excess or oversized woody debris from the recent winter storm. The event will take place on Saturday, January 31 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tigard Public Works Building, 8777 SW Burnham Street, Tigard, located at the corner of Hall Boulevard and Burnham Street. Small stumps (up to 12 inches in diameter), limbs, branches and woody material will be accepted and can be delivered loose or in paper bags. Items not accepted include: large stumps, dirt, sod, rocks, food or vegetable waste, garbage, hazardous waste, animal waste, lumber, and construction debris. Since garbage haulers were unable to adhere to their usual collection schedules during the storm, they are sponsoring the free event as a "thank you" to Tigard residents for their patience and understanding. For more information, contact the City of Tigard's Solid Waste and Recycling Coordinator Jennifer Joe at 503.718.2599 or jennifer@tigard-or.gov. |
