Intoxicated Burglar Arrested and Jailed
Tigard Police responded to a 9-1-1 call Tuesday morning at approximately 7:00 am from an apartment resident reporting a man just forced open the door to his unit. The incident occurred at an apartment complex located at 10675 SW Murdock St. in Tigard. Further details indicated the burglar entered the apartment and voiced he was looking for his cell phone. The suspect immediately fled the scene. No one was injured.

A Tigard officer was in the area within minutes and spotted a man walking along SW Canterbury St. in Tigard. The subject appeared to match the description given by the victim of the forced entry that occurred just minutes prior. The Tigard officer detained and questioned the suspect, now identified as 24 year old Ryan Presley of Tigard. Presley appeared visibly intoxicated. Presley was then transported to the scene of the burglary where the victim identified him as being the person that unlawfully entered his residence.

Presley was charged with Burglary I and transported to the Washington County Jail. Presley was also charged with Criminal Mischief II as a result of the damage to the door and frame when he allegedly forced his way into the victim's unit.
