Free Leaf Disposal & Food Drive

2009 Free Leaf Disposal & Food Drive
(Fall 2009)

Fall is coming and the city is asking residents to clear leaves from storm drains throughout the city. Leaves, in combination with winter rains, can clog storm drainage systems and flood city roadways.

To help area residents properly dispose of leaves, the City of Tigard is sponsoring four free leaf disposal and food drive events:
  • Saturday, November 7, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Saturday, November 21, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Saturday, December 5, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Saturday, December 12, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This event will take place at the Tigard Public Works Building, located at 8777 SW Burnham Street, at the corner of Hall & Burnham Streets. Leaves can be loose or bagged in paper.

Yard debris, other than leaves, will not be accepted. A donation of two non-perishable food items is recommended. Donations will be forwarded to needy area residents through Tigard's St. Vincent de Paul food distribution facility.

For more information, contact Wastewater/Storm Repair Supervisor Rob Block at 503-718-2607 or rob@tigard-or.gov.
