Two Men Scam Unsuspecting Business Employees at Bank Night Depository
Tigard Police is currently investigating reports involving a scam occurring outside the Wells Fargo Bank located at 9200 SW Washington Square Rd. Police learned of the incidents the following day when one of the businesses involved contacted the bank to inquire about the deposit made the prior night.

Two separate incidents occurred on the evening of August 15th at about 10:00 p.m. Further information obtained from witness statements indicate that two white men, approximately 30-40 years of age and medium build were standing in front of the night depository box attached to the bank. The victims related that the men were wearing a blue uniform that included a gun, identification card and some type of security badge. The men advised the victims that the night depository is out of service and they would collect any deposits and provide them to the bank when it opened the following morning. The victims also noticed a blue engraved sign positioned over the night depository door that stated "Out of Service." The two suspects had a black box which they used to collect and store the deposits. Both victims stated the entire operation and appearance of the men looked "official." In both cases, the victims gave their bank deposits to the men.

Tigard Police is asking anyone who may have observed the suspects in the area of the bank to contact 503-639-6168.
