Urbanization Policy Interest Team Meeting

-- Monday, July 21st at 7:00 pm
--Tigard Town Hall, 13125 SW Hall Blvd, Tigard, OR 97223

The Planning Commission will host the next Comprehensive Plan Urbanization Policy Interest Team on Monday, July 21, at 7:00 pm. Come help the Planning Commission decide what the City's policies on urbanization should be for the next 20 years. Explore issues like:

  • What will be the City's role in providing services to land not currently within the City limits?
  • What is the City's role in regional and state growth management decisions?
  • How will the City address annexation issues into the future?
If you have any questions, please contact Marissa Daniels at 503-718-2428 or marissa@tigard-or.gov. We look forward to seeing you there.

What is the Comprehensive Plan?
What will Tigard be like in 2027, and how will we get there? To provide a policy guide for the City's next stage of life (20 years), we are now updating the City's Comprehensive Plan. The Tigard Comprehensive Plan is the primary document that guides land use decisions within the community. It outlines goals, policies, and action measures that are intended to reflect the community's values and aspirations for land use planning. It also aims to organize and coordinate the relationships between people, land, resources, and facilities to meet the current and future needs of Tigard.

The Tigard Comprehensive Plan is required by State law and must conform to 19 Oregon Statewide Planning Goals. Land development and related activities, including the City's development codes, must be consistent with adopted Plan goals and policies.
