Help Safeguard Your Catalytic Converter
"Engrave 'em To Save 'em"

In the event you may not be aware, metal thieves are now targeting catalytic converters on motor vehicles. The Tigard area alone reported over a dozen thefts of this motor vehicle part within the past few weeks. Information known to police indicates many of the surrounding communities have also seen an alarming number of associated thefts of these items as well. Metal thieves sell the stolen catalytic converters to unscrupulous dealers for minimal costs. Replacement costs to the victim however are significant in addition to the frustration and inconvenience the theft creates.

To date, only Toyota brand SUVs and trucks have been impacted in Tigard. To help reduce the opportunity for theft, Tigard Police will be sponsoring an event to have Toyota brand SUV and truck catalytic converters etched and recorded.

"Engrave 'em To Save 'em"

Bring your Toyota SUV or truck to the parking lot at the Tigard Public Works Building located at 8777 SW Burnham St. (at Hall Blvd) on Saturday, July 12th from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

This event is free. Why not consider bringing along a non-perishable food item for the Vincent DePaul Food Pantry. Food collected is used in the community to assist families with needs. For more information please call 503-718-2561.
