Tigard Woman Killed In DUII Hit and Run
A 41 year-old Tigard woman died Saturday morning as a result of injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle as she was crossing a street. The incident occurred at approximately 2:45 am Saturday morning in an area along SW Walnut St near 121st Ave. in Tigard. The victim died at the scene.

Tigard Police now know that the driver of the vehicle allegedly involved, did not stop and remain at the scene, rather continued driving to his residence in Beaverton. The suspect is identified as 23 year-old Jeffrey David Leiferman of Beaverton. A short time after arriving home, police were called and Leiferman relayed what he recalled had occurred. Tigard Police went to his residence where he was arrested without incident. Leiferman is charged with Manslaughter II, Hit and Run Felony and D.U.I.I.. Leiferman has been lodged at the Washington County Jail and will await arraignment.

At the request of the family, the name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of a family member who has not been advised of the tragedy.
