"Tigard Reads" Fun Continues with Chinese Puppets and Art in May The Tigard Public Library continues its first community-wide reading program, "Tigard Reads," with more Chinese-themed family and adult events at the end of May. Oregon author Nicole Mones' novel The Last Chinese Chef is the selected book. Master puppeteers Yuqin Wang and Zhengli Xu of Dragon Art Studio present Images of China: Vignettes & Stories with Chinese Rod Puppets on Tuesday, May 27 from 7 to 8 p.m., a performance for all ages. Tigard Reads wraps up on Friday, May 30, at 7 p.m. with docent Judy Bell presenting a lecture and virtual tour of the Portland Art Museum's exhibit Mysterious Spirits, Strange Beasts, Earthly Delights: Early Chinese Art from the Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Collection. Both events will be held in the Community Room. All "Tigard Reads" events are free and are sponsored by the Friends of the Tigard Public Library.
