Tigard Library Survey Targets Library Use of Web Site The Tigard Public Library is asking people to provide feedback about library services in its annual survey. The focus of the survey this year is use of the library's web site. The survey also asks people how they learn about library programs and services. Visitors to the library between Sunday, February 3 and Saturday, February 16 will be asked to fill out a paper survey. The survey will also be available to take on-line. Three computers in the Library will be dedicated to the on-line version of the survey, which was also distributed through Cityscape, the City's newsletter. "We appreciate hearing both from library patrons and from those who have never used the library," said Library Director Margaret Barnes. "If there are reasons people don't want to use the library, we'd like to know what they are." Last year the Library received 2,803 responses to the survey. Library open hours was the key issue addressed last year. As a result of responses to the survey, the Library has twice restored hours that had been eliminated over the past few years after two countywide levies failed. Passage of a countywide levy in 2006 allowed the Tigard Library to restore some of those hours. |
