Ki-a-Kuts Bike and Pedestrian Bridge Grand Opening Celebration!
The grand opening of the Ki-a-Kuts Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge over the Tualatin River on Saturday, June 23 at 11 a.m. will feature Tualatin Mayor Lou Ogden, Tigard Mayor Craig Dirksen, Durham Mayor Gery Schirado, Washington County Commissioner Roy Rogers and project managers involved in this project.

William "Wink" Soderberg of the Grand Ronde Tribal Council will attend in honor of the bridge's namesake who was the 1850's headman of the Atfalati band of the Kalapuyan Tribe.

The public is invited to the ceremony on the bridge, which is accessible by trail from Tualatin Community Park, Tigard's Cook Park or Durham City Park.

Attendees will receive a free commemorative tote bag while they last, and are invited to enjoy free ice cream at noon in Tualatin Community Park's newest playground. Tualatin Community Park is at 8715 SW Tualatin Road.

The morning will be active on the Tualatin River between Jurgens Park and Ki-a-Kuts Bridge as elected officials compete in a canoe race organized by the Tualatin Riverkeepers.
