Police Arrest Tigard Man On Child Sex Abuse Charges

On January 20, 2004, Tigard Police Detectives arrested Chris Edward Swenson, on several charges relating to ongoing investigation which began last month. Swenson resides at 11200 SW Greenburg Rd. in Tigard. He was arrested without incident at the Tigard Police Department.

Last month, Tigard Police learned of an encounter that an eight year old female had with Swenson. The victim disclosed information to her mother who in turn contacted the police. Swenson was considered a family friend and therefore not usual for him to have contact with the victim. The victim alleged the incidents leading up to Swenson's arrest took place in early December at his residence.

Swenson was arrested and charged with 2 counts of Compelling Prostitution, Using Child in Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct, Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse, Attempted Sex Abuse and Possession of Child Pornography. A Washington County Grand Jury is expected to hear the case within the week.
