Tigard Police Investigating Tigard Man Shot During Home Invasion Robbery

Tigard Police were called to a home located at 8818 SW Spruce St, in Tigard at approximately 10:20 PM Tuesday (11/25/03) evening. Reports of a home invasion and robbery involving a man being shot were reported. Upon arrival police located the victim, Paul Arnsberg, DOB 042769, with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

A female guest in the home reported being alerted to noises in the home. Upon investigating, the female was confronted by a male described as approximately in his 20’s, 5 feet 10 inches tall and medium build. He was wearing a red stocking cap. His speech was described as a “southern accent.” The suspect made efforts to conceal his face. The suspect made repeated demands for money. The female retreated to another room in the home to alert Arnsberg of the robbery. The victim confronted the suspect who then fired the first shot, apparently not hitting anything.

While the victim began to chase and confront the suspect through the home, a second suspect appeared coming out of another room in the home. The second suspect is described as also in his 20’s, approximately 5 feet 6 inches and slight build. He was dressed in dark clothing including a dark blue ¾ length coat and black shoes with white stripes. The second suspect also wore a ski mask. As both suspects attempted to flee the home through the door they had originally forced open, the first suspect fired a second shot at the victim hitting him in the abdomen.

Police arrived shortly after the female in the home called 9-1-1. Police administered first aid to the victim prior to emergency medical arrived on scene. The victim was transported to a hospital and later released.

Police are asking anyone with information helpful to the investigation to contact Det. Kevin Dresser at the Tigard Police Department. Telephone 503-718-2576.
