Volunteer Opportunities

When does summer volunteering happen?
Teens are invited to volunteer in June, July and August.

What will teen volunteers be doing?
Shelving, shelving and more shelving! Volunteers will also be searching for books, shelf-reading, assisting with events, working with kids and other teens, and helping staff.

What's required?
  • A minimum of 20 hours of service during June, July and August.
  • Fill out and turn in an application-available online or at the library.
  • Register for and attend a one-hour orientation.
  • Choose between helping in the Circulation Division or assisting with Summer Reading Programs.
  • Establish and turn in a calendar schedule.
What's expected?
  • Be on time and follow instructions.
  • Call your supervisor if you can't make it (volunteers with unexcused absences may be replaced).
  • Stay through your agreed time.
  • Obey the dress code: no shorts, hats, tank tops or flip-flops.
  • Learn new things and have fun!
Teen Orientations:
  • Saturday, June 9 | 11 am to 12 noon
  • Tuesday, June 19 | 4 to 5 pm
