Library Cards

How to Get a Library Card
Library cards are available free of charge to all residents of Washington, Multnomah, Clackamas, Hood, Clark, Klickitat and Skamania Counties. Proof of address and picture identification are required. Acceptable ID for adults includes a state ID card or Driver's License with a current address. Also accepted are printed checks or utility bills, a rent receipt or mail with current address and a recent postmark.

Teens or children may show proof of enrollment in any Tigard/Tualatin public school, or ID in the name of their parent or guardian. Parents or guardians of all youths under 18 will be given a letter outlining guidelines for library use. This letter will be mailed if the guardian is not present at the time the card is issued.

Patrons who live outside the Library service area will be charged a $95.00 annual use fee. Patrons who do not live in the listed counties may still receive a free "courtesy card" if they can provide evidence that they work in Tigard city limits.

Library Card Policies
Patrons must have their card or card number in order to conduct any library business, either in person or over the phone. This includes checking items out, picking up holds and viewing library record. Staff may be able to access a patron’s account with picture identification—if there are any difficulties with the on-line database, access without your card is not possible. Please bring your library card to avoid any difficulty.

To access a friend or family member's record, patrons must provide their card or card number. Items may be renewed or fines paid by without card or card number in order to clear up records; however titles on the record can not be revealed without the card or card number

Please remember that your library card is your responsibility. Signing your library card indicates that you accept full responsibility for the use of the card. Notify the library immediately of loss of your card or change of address. Replacement cards cost $1.00.

Please feel free to inquire at the Circulation Desk if you have any questions about these policies.

How to Access Your Library Card Record
To access your library record online through WCCLS, you will need your card number and password (default password is the last 4 digits of your phone number). Your record will show the items you have checked out and the dates they are due, as well as the items you have placed on hold. To check your library records now,
