Decorate the Mitten Tree throughout December
Sunday, December 1 – Tuesday, December 31 | In the Puett Room
Throughout the month of December, bring new hats, scarves and gloves to decorate the branches of our 18th annual Mitten Tree. The Good Neighbor Center will give them to homeless families in Washington County. Generously sponsored by Friends of the Tigard Library

Early Literacy Workshop

Attention, grownups raising children under six. Would you like to help your child become a successful reader? Leave your kids with a babysitter and come learn fun, easy tips and strategies to prepare your child to read. Registration required. Please call the Children's Desk at 503-718-2656 to register.

 
Let it Shine
Saturday, December 20 • 1:30–2:30 p.m. • Puett Room • All ages
Light up the darkest day of the year with your own creations. Make shining star ornaments, sparkly beaded bracelets and other bright projects!


I Spy Pete the Cat
Sunday, December 21–Sunday, January 4 • Children's Room • All ages
Where in the Children's Room is Pete the Cat hiding? How has he dressed for the season? Use your skills of observation to find our groovy friend and win a small prize! Pete will keep moving along and singing his song for two weeks, so come back every day to find him in a new place.

Ring in the New Year with Japanese games, crafts, snacks and a screening of Studio Ghibli's classic film My Neighbor Totoro (G).


Huichol Yarn Art

Make your own eye-catching yarn painting just like the Huichol (WEE-chol) people of Northwest Mexico.


Stuffed Animal Sleepover
Saturday, January 10 • 1:30–2:30 p.m. • Puett Room • All ages
Teen Library Council will host your favorite stuffie for an overnight at the library! Bring your beloved stuffed animal for a story time and crafts. The teens will take good care of your stuffed friends, who will be waiting to come home the next day with pictures of their silly nighttime adventures.


The Reptile Man
