Programs for Kids & Families: Story Times

Story Times
 
Program runs: Tuesday, September 8 - Friday, December 18
All Story Times take place in the Puett Room and are FREE and open to the public. Punctual arrival helps everyone get the most out of these "short and sweet" programs. Thank you for your efforts to arrive on time!

NOTE: There will be a two-week break beginning on Monday, December 21. Story Times will resume on January 4, 2010.



Preschool Story Time
Ages 3 - 6 years
Mondays, 10:30 - 11:15 a.m. AND
Thursdays, 1:30-2:15 p.m. (NEW session!)

Longer stories, music and fun interactive activities will be used to explore and develop the six basic early literacy skills essential for blossoming readers. The library will be closed on Thursday, November 26, for Thanksgiving.



Fun for Ones
Ages 12 - 24 months
Tuesdays, 10:30 - 11 a.m. AND 11:30 a.m. - Noon (Two sessions)

Join us as we sing, rhyme, share simple stories and enjoy movement activities in this story time especially designed for new walkers and their grownups! Stay and play after the program. Please note: In order to provide a beneficial experience, the number of participants will be limited to the first 20 children for each session.



Pajama Story Time
Ages 0 - 6 years
Tuesdays, 7 - 7:30 p.m.

Wear your jammies to the library for books and more "good night" fun. Don't forget to bring your favorite grown-up and teddy bear! Please note: Pajama Time will be 'pre-empted' by Super Tuesday events in the Community Room on October 6, November 3 and December 1.



Toddler Time
Ages 24 - 36 months
Wednesdays, 10:30 - 11:15 a.m. AND 12:30 - 1:15 p.m. (NEW session!)

Explore basic literacy concepts and group skills activities designed to appeal to toddlers. Be ready to wiggle! Stay and play after the program. Please note: In order to provide a beneficial experience, the number of participants will be limited to the first 20 children for each session. The library will be closed on Wednesday, November 11 for Veterans Day.



Book Babies
Ages 0-12 months
Thursdays, 10:30 - 11 a.m.

Babies and their grown-ups are invited to share nursery rhymes, finger plays, songs and a simple book while making new friends and developing early literacy skills! Stay and play after the program. The library will be closed on Thursday, November 26 for Thanksgiving.



Hora de Cuentos para la Familia
JUEVES de 6 a 6:45 PM - en el salón Puett
Cuentos, canciones y rimas para niños de todas las edades y sus familias. La biblioteca será cerrada el jueves 26 de noviembre.

Spanish Story Time
Thursdays, 6 - 6:45 p.m.
Stories, songs and rhymes in Spanish for families with children of all ages. The library will be closed on Thursday, November 26 for Thanksgiving.




Family Story Time
Ages 0-6 years
Fridays, 10:30 - 11 a.m. AND 11:30 p.m. - Noon (NEW session!)

Bring the whole gang for stories, songs and super-duper silliness! Please note: In order to provide a beneficial experience, the number of participants will be limited to the first 20 children for each session.



Special Needs Story Time
All Ages
2nd Saturdays: September 12, October 10, November 14, December 12
10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Enjoy rhymes, songs, books and crafts during this monthly story time especially suited for special needs children! Books and activities will be geared toward children with developmental ages 3-6, and families with children of all ages are welcome.
