- Children's Room (1st Floor):
The place to be for a wide variety of books, movies and music and games
for kids from infants through 6th grade. Kid-sized furniture allow young
readers to curl up with a good book, play educational games and puzzles
and escape into imaginary worlds with puppets. Six computers allow
kids to look for books and other items to check out as well as explore
the Internet. Three additional computers are available for educational games.
- Coffee Shop (1st Floor lobby):
- George and Yvonne Burgess Community Room (1st Floor):
Located to the left of the Library entrance off the
lobby, this room houses most Library programs. With seating for 160 people, a large projection screen,
sound system and stage lighting, this room is ideal for music, movies, games, author talks and a wide
variety of performances. The room was renamed in February 2012 to recognize the
significant contributions of two long-time library volunteers.
- Conference Room (2nd Floor):
Several programs and meetings are held in here.
The room is equipped with a conference table that seats 22 and a projection screen.
- Grace Tigard Houghton Reading Room (2nd Floor):
A classic room for reading and study.
The room also has a fireplace and attractive views conducive to contemplation and inspiration.
It is equipped with electrical outlets for those with laptops who wish to access the Library's wireless service.
- Local History Room (2nd Floor):
The Tigard Public Library's
local history collection
documents the Tigard area's development from the 1850s to the present.
It houses books, maps, atlases, photographs, scrapbooks and newspaper
clippings, Tigard High School yearbooks and articles.
- Puett Room (1st Floor Children's Area):
Most
Story
Times and kids' craft programs take place here.
- Study Rooms (2nd Floor):
Three rooms are available for quiet individual or group study.
Rooms may be reserved up to one week in advance. Call 503-718-2517 to reserve a room.
Check in at the 2nd Floor Reference Desk before using the room.

Fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels, DVDs, CDs, helpful librarians and more occupy this area, especially designed to serve teen-aged library patrons. Eight computers are dedicated for their use.
