About Tigard Mapping Services
Most of us learn and process information much faster when it is displayed in a map rather than soley in a spreadsheet and report. Using this concept, Tigard Mapping Services is a centralized source for maps and web mapping applications related to various City functions and operations. Using Geographic Information Systems, or GIS, the City maintains numerous thematic 'layers' and makes those layers available to staff and the public in the form of maps.
Known as the integrating technology, GIS joins the many City maintained layers (such as zoning, land use, boundaries, crime, utilities, assets, transportation, and planning data, as well as many layers from other jurisdictions) with City business systems (e.g., permitting) and allows for a truly integrated and highly efficient information system.

Crime Mapping Statistics:
Crime Statistics represent a snapshot of documented cases for a 12 month period
that is updated daily. The numbers only reflect cases that are already entered into the local Records Management System and do not reflect changes to individual cases if the changes were made after the end of the reporting period. The original data source is dynamic and is therefore constantly changing, so totals may differ from other reports generated by the Police Department.
