Completed between December 2005 and September 2006, the Downtown Streetscape
Plan includes concept designs for streetscapes, gateways, public spaces,
and green streets in addition to functional improvement plans for transit,
street connectivity, pedestrian circulation, and street lighting.
Functional Plans illustrate critical design and location characteristics for
enhanced pedestrian crossings, access to bus and commuter rail transit,
street trees, and street lighting. These design characteristics are closely
linked to the streetscape design concepts developed as part of the
project.
The Downtown Streetscape Design Plan consists of three iterative parts.
Each part is guided by the themes and great ideas of the Tigard Downtown
Improvement Plan (TDIP) in addition to input from the Streetscape Working
Group, a citizen advisory committee formed to review the Streetscape
Plan.
